Spillage Containment

Spillage containment with the Robex Bund Lining System

Protecting the environment is and important issue for everyone. More so for those who are responsible for handling, storing and transporting dangerous or hazardous liquids.

Wherever a spillage could occur the surface needs to be protected from liquid penetration. Simply mopping up the spillage is not sufficient and those responsible for Health and Safety will clamp down heavily on those who do not comply. The consequence of non-compliance could range from a heavy fine to a temporary shut down causing a major disruption. It has even been worse in some cases where the Company has been closed down and even prison sentences have been served.

Every storage and distribution facility for liquid components must have a spillage protection procedure in place. In most cases this will involve the application of special coatings and liners.

Even an electricity sub station stores cooling oil in the transformer and this requires a procedure for spillage containment. Ranging from overbanding joints in a dense concrete structure to a complete liner over a screed floor, and lining the brick or block walls.
