  • Brief and direct the public relations / advertising agency to achieve goals and objectives related to the function such as obtaining maximum coverage from all relevant media.

ABSA WECBOF Business Person of the Year

Vibe Events & Catering was selected amongst over 400 SMME’s for the ABSA WECBOF Awards nominations. Jill van As, Director of Vibe Events & Catering, received the Western Cape Business Person of the Year Award on behalf of the company. The award was based on voicing the issues of black entrepreneurs to stakeholders such as government, corporate, and trade unions.

Vibe Events & Catering is an events company which includes services such as event management, catering, event operating plans and budgeting, security and crowd control and creating various halaal certified menus with the provision of a dietician to name a few. Vibe Events & Catering has been a wholly black owned close corporation since it began in September 2009.

Founders

Garry van As has been an entrepreneur since 1996. He had a successful transport business which he managed and owned for four years. In January 2000 he started a motorcycle retail outlet and has been owner and manager until August 2008.

Jill van As graduated in Hotel and Operations Management in 1998. She has been working in the industry since.

Hence the reason the company was founded, they combined their respective expertise to build a business that could enhance the industry in a growing economy.

Vibe Event Management is a wholly black owned close corporation that was registered in October 2005 as Thunder Valley Trading 9 cc, and which complies with all the legal requirements as per the company act with registration number 2005 / 144572 / 23.
