Educating our patients about Testosterone
Just like women go through menopause, men go through a similar condition called andropause. Testosterone levels decline gradually with age, about 1% a year after men reach the age of 30.
It is far more than just a hormone that controls the male sex drive. Testosterone promotes well-being.
If you are a healthy male who finds himself under performing in various areas of your life, the reason could be a low testosterone level.
The good news is that Testosterone Therapy is very effective!
Testosterone therapy is generally considered a long term therapy. Patients will be required to have a full medical examination including patient history and blood tests. A number of other tests may be conducted depending on the patient’s needs. Treatment programmes are based on the above findings and then routine check-ups will form the basis of maintenance therapy.
Testosterone replacement therapy is appropriate and safe for men with low and below normal levels if done by a qualified practitioner.
The goals are to restore hormone balance resulting in a sense of well-being, improved mental function, heart and bone health, restoring muscle strength, sexual function and increased libido.
