Mr NicolaasBekker started to work on trucks when he was just 12 Years of age. He used to help one Farmer/ Transport Company near his home town – Sterkstroom on weekends and holidays for some extra spending money. That’s where he got his love for trucks. By the age of 18 he could already redo the complete brake system on truck and trailer as well as engine overhauls, services and minor repairs.

Nicolaas worked as a diesel Mechanic for a few years and wanted to do more than just fix the trucks. He applied and acquired his code 14 driver’s license and went to drive trucks for another few years where he serviced and repaired some of his own trucks which he was driving. To him it was an experience of a lifetime. His love for trucks was inspiring. He always kept his truck in the best and neatest condition.

Due to settling down with a family he went back to working as a Diesel mechanic for a few large companies in South Africa, but wasn’t happy with doing only that. With the experience he received from working as a Diesel Mechanic and Truck Driver, he wanted to do more. He wanted to offer a service to the Transporters which very few companies can offer. He understood the needs and pressure of Transporting. He started with only a bakkie and a few tools.

Today he has a company with a Powerstar Dealership. Which he also began because he knew with Powerstar he can give his customers a better choice with lower maintenance costs and good service. He is the type of guy who you will still find in an overhaul working together with his staff. Not because he has to, but because he loves to.

He built his client base one customer at a time and mostly through word of mouth marketing.

His keys to success are through high quality work and constant contact with clients so as to keep them informed about the state of their vehicles and the repair job progress. He is friendly, customer oriented and will take the time to explain to customers the intricate nature of his business and his work.

His mission in his company is to provide high quality, convenient and comprehensive repair at low cost. The most important aspect of his business is trust. It is his goal to have 100% customer satisfaction in regards to quality friendliness, time to completion and to discover new ways to exceed the expectations of his clients. In the future he hopes that his sons will share the love for trucks that he has and one day take his place in the business and make it even stronger.
