Weichai engine performs well in all aspects like reliability, dynamic, economy. All the performance indicators have reached the advance level in the world. Weichai engine can meet Euro V emission standard, and has received the Euro IV emission authentication issued by Germany TUV, Russia’s Euro IV emissions, the European off-road phase III emissions authentication, the NOX stage II emissions qualifications authentication of international maritime organization.
Starting from trial-producing single cylinder engine in 1964, Weichai gradually developed medium speed engine. Weichai introduced WD615, WD618, etc. engine technology from abroad in 1984, jointly developed WP10, WP12 high-powered speed engine in 2004. At present Weichai high speed engine displacements ranges from 2L to 54L, power ranges from 45Ps to 2600 PS. The application field was extended from heavy-duty commercial vehicle to medium and light commercial vehicles. The engineering machinery application was extended to small engineering machinery and multi-purpose engineering machinery. The medium and low speed engine displacements ranges from 27L to 3000L, the maximum power was expanded from 3000 Ps to 15600 Ps, the application field was extended from inland shipping, offshore fishing to ocean transportation, generator sets was extended from small size to big complete set.
Weichai engines are widely applied in truck, tractor, dump truck, bus, passenger bus, loader, bulldozer, roller, excavator, crane, combined harvester, inland transport ship, coastal fishing boat, high speed official boat, yacht, generator sets and other fields.
Joint venture of Wechai and Deutz Company of Germany
WeifangWeichaiDeutz Diesel Engine Co., Ltd., is a joint venture company of Weichai Power company and Deutz AG., Germany. The companies cooperate both in technology and manufacturing process. Deutz AG has removed all its equipment, technology and management to Weichai Power company and produce Deutz 226B series engine in Weichai Power company. The designed annual producing capacity is 20500 sets.
Being widely used in various kinds of machinery, 226B series diesel engines have endured thousands of verifications. With the output ranging from 30kw-152kw, this series diesel engine are the ideal power for engineering machinery, agricultural machinery, heavy duty trucks, ships, generating sets, stationary power and some special machinery.
Weichai Power Co Ltd payed 738 million euros ($928 million) for a stake in German forklift truck maker Kion Group GmbH and its hydraulics subsidiary, the largest direct investment by a Chinese company in Germany so far.
According to the agreement signed by the two sides Weichai Power, which is headquartered in Weifang, Shandong province, and is part of the Shandong Heavy Industry Group, will acquire a 25 percent stake in Kion Group, the world’s second-largest forklift maker, for 467 million euros, and a 70 percent controlling stake in Kion’s subsidiary Linde Hydraulics for 271 million euros, from KKR & Co and Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
Although the KION Group is relatively young, it includes two longestablished German engineering companies – the premium brands Linde and STILL.
Weichai acquired 130-year-old French diesel engine and gearbox maker MoteursBaudouin in 2008. MoteursBaudouinis a manufacturer and wholesaler of marine diesel engines, gearboxes, propeller shafts and related products.
